Great DIY Haircare Products That Can Save You A Fortune

Many women and young girls have to spend a lot of time and money on maintaining and enhancing the aesthetics of their hair.

Typically speaking, you could go to your hair salon in Aventura for a touch up, but because of the pandemic, many have had to readjust their game plan during this time. Additionally, hair salon services of Aventura are pricey to get done on a monthly basis.

We’re going to be taking a look at some DIY options that can save you money and keep you looking and feeling your best.

It’s perfectly warranted to go to a hair salon in Aventura on occasion, but don’t make a habit of it if it’s not in your budget. If you find a routine that works for you, you won’t have as much of a dependency on hair salon services of Aventura.

Transferring Shampoo Products To a Pump Dispenser

One method to save money on hair care and utilizing DIY products to your advantage is by transferring shampoo products to a pump dispenser. If you do this, you won’t have to worry about spending more money at hair salons in Aventura for shampoo and conditioner products.

One common issue that many girls face when they don’t use a pump is, you reach over for your bottle of shampoo or conditioner and you get an amount that is more than what you expected because you couldn’t measure it ahead of time.

The best way to prevent this from happening is to transfer your shampoo and conditioner to containers that are equipped with a pump. Because of this, you can control just how much you want to use at a time without burning through your products.

Thinning Out Your Shampoo

The shampoo is a very concentrated product. Something that you can do in order to thin yours out so that it can work longer is by using a clean, empty bottle.

Next, you can add two ounces of shampoo per every one teaspoon of baking soda. If you pour five ounces of water into that and mix it well—boom!

You’ll have a thinned-out version of your shampoo that will work just as well as the shampoo you get by using hair salon services of Aventura.

Using A Shampoo Bar

There are many alternatives instead of using regular shampoo. Instead, try using shampoo bars. Not only is it way easier to use but it lathers up like regular shampoo. Shampoo bars are very cost-effective as well.

How much money are you going to save? Word in the street is that one bar is equal to a 24 oz. bottle of shampoo. Which, by all accounts, is very impressive. So, by the time you decide to see your hair stylist in Aventura for that occasional visit, your hair will be intact.

Don’t Shampoo As Often

Honestly, there is no solid steadfast rule for the frequency of washing your hair. It depends on things like how much of the product is needed for you, or if you have a sensitive scalp, and, if you use a shampoo that is devoid of sulfates or not.

But if you happen to have natural hair that is type 3, doing it once a week is fine. Hair stylists of Aventura can also make recommendations for how often you should shampoo, depending on your hair type.

If you’ve got type 4, every 3-4 weeks is fine, as long as your scalp doesn’t suffer any irritations. Whatever your hair texture is, unless you have very oily hair, there is no need to shampoo every day.

All this will do is strip your hair of its natural oils which can make it prone to breakage and weakness. Plus, it will prompt you to use up your shampoo more quickly than needed.

So with all of this in mind, when it comes to how much shampoo you use, applying the “less is more” approach is much more effective for your hair and wallet.

Let’s take a look at some more DIY tactics you can use that your hair stylist of Aventura most likely hasn’t made you aware of!

Solutions for Dandruff and Itchy Scalps

You can use a few drops of tea tree oil for your shampoo. Massage gently into your scalp and let it sit before rinsing it out.

Or

Mix 1-2 ounces of jojoba oil with 1-2 drops of tea tree oil and work into your scalp. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes before you start to shampoo.

Tip: Do a final rinse with cold water after shampooing. Cold water closes the pores and helps keep out flakes and dirt. So before you go out and spend money on anti-dandruff shampoos, give these home remedies a chance.

Getting a Final Rinse

If you have excess product build-up and want to add shine to your hair, you can create a great combo using apple cider vinegar and water.

Feel free to be experimental with how much you use, you can try 50/50 water and organic apple cider vinegar (4 oz of each). You may want to use more water to ensure the mixture is not overpowering. Use this as your final rinse after you are done shampooing.

Using Baking Soda

Dissolve 1 tbsp of baking soda in 1-2 cups of warm water. Make sure the mixture is blended nicely before using it. Spray it on your hair after you shampoo and rinse or use it instead of shampoo.

Reminder: There’s been some debate about baking soda and its harmful effects on natural hair. Some people won’t personally use it as a clarifying rinse, but there are others who love this routine for their hair. Proceed at your own risk.

In fact, if you’re ever unsure about how a product can function, just use it on a section of your hair to test its effectiveness.

There are methods out there for everyone, but you need to determine what is best for your hair by testing out these different methods that have been mentioned.

SURVIVING CONSULTATION WITH YOUR NEW BEAUTY PROFESSIONAL

Looking for someone to take care of your beauty needs can be difficult. Whether you’re looking for a change or new to an area, one of the most daunting parts of seeing someone new to help you update your look is the consultation. It’s the proverbial “ First Date “ of any beauty service. Speaking from a hairstylist stand point, here are the Top 4 suggestions for surviving your first visit to a new hair salon…

Bring pictures. It gives the stylist an idea of the look that your going for. Things that you like. Even show the stylist pictures of things that you don’t like for clarification. Trying to decipher words can sometimes lead to miscommunication and that leads to unhappy hair — which is the last thing anyone wants.

Be honest. If you’ve used box dye at home, TELL US. We won’t get upset. It may seem like we do when you start to give you our speech about the downside of it, but — of we’re asking you to be honest WE’VE even done it. It’s what brought us to the profession in the first place because we wanted to discover how to remedy hair trauma that we’ve inflicted upon ourselves and we’re just trying to save you money and headaches. ( PRO TIP: If you can tell us your hair care routine  like products/shampoo/conditioner you use — it makes us REALLY HAPPY )

Be realistic. We would love to take someone from a black to white blonde in one day after just a few hours. We would love to give everyone the hair of their dreams. That being said, it may take more than one visit to get you to your desired color while maintaining the integrity and health of your hair. It’s not that we want your money, we just don’t want you to make a bad investment with something as important to you, and us, as your hair.

Set a budget. Not matter which way you cut the pie, hair in an investment. You take the time to go to a salon and purchase product, it should be a place where the techniques are cutting edge and the retail is effective. We, as stylist, take the time to get the education we need to keep you looking like you could grace the cover of a magazine. We also work hard to be sure that we’re carrying products that will protect our work and your investment. Setting a budget will help the stylist determine a course of action for helping you achieve your #hairgoals.

Visiting a new beauty professional or hairstylist can seem like a pretty scary task whether you’re new to the neighborhood or just looking for a change. Hopefully these tips will help you wade through your choices and won’t have you diving off the deep end of hair dispare.

“ Invest in your hair. It’s the crown you never take off. “
